Location and drive-time
Located 100 kilometres north of Melbourne, the town of Heathcote is a 2-hour drive away from Melbourne by Rolls Royce, or another car from our luxury range.
Wine styles
Reds predominate in this region, the Shiraz considered by some to be the best produced in Australia. Merlot, Sangiovese Nebbiolo, varieties are also grown and blended with Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon which bring a spice to the wines.

- Leave the Melbourne CBD at 9:00am
- Visit 2 - 3 Heathcote wineries in the morning
- Lunch in a winery Bistro 12.30pm
- Visit 3 wineries in the afternoon 2.00 – 4.30pm
- Return to Melbourne at around 6.00 pm.
Restaurants, accommodation and other ideas
Heathcote is a small town with character and some lovely food and accommodation choices. A number of the wineries in the region have café’ or Bistro on site where you can enjoy wines by the glass accompanied by fine food.
The selection of a venue for lunch can greatly enhance your wine experience, by offering you the opportunity to taste the wines of the region matched to fine food. We are able to advise you on establishments where regional wines are well represented on the wine lists, staff are able to guide your wine selection to match your food and, wines can be ordered by the glass allowing you to experience a more than one wine with your lunch.
For a two-day experience you may enjoy an overnight stay at one of the lovely Manor houses or retreats in Woodend or Macedon and visit either the Bendigo or Macedon Ranges wine region.
